06/12/2024

The Economic Chamber continues to build the export capacity of Macedonian companies

Seven training courses with over 250 participants from more than 150 export-oriented companies were conducted over a four-month period (from September to December 2024) as part of the Training Center activities within the Export Institute at the Economic Chamber. The Training Center was established this year as part of the Private Sector Regional Integration Support Activity (PSRISA) implemented by the Chamber in partnership with USAID.

In its first year of operation, the Training Center designed a total of eleven modular training courses as part of the programs How to Start Exporting to International Markets and Export Management. Seven training courses were conducted on the following topics:

- International Business and International Relations

- Analysis, Access, and Models for Entering Foreign Markets

- Mandatory Rules and Legal Aspects of Export

- Economic Aspects of International Business

- Export Competency Diagnostics
- Developing Export Strategies

- International Marketing and Export Promotion

The Training Center focuses on developing human resources in the field of foreign trade through tailored training programs. The modules covered over 40 key topics essential for organizing export operations.

- Training under the first program, How to Start Exporting to International Markets, is intended for companies aiming to begin export activities but lacking sufficient knowledge to do so.

- Training under the second program, Export Management, targets existing exporters seeking to improve their operations and expand the range of countries/markets where they sell their products.

The trainers, who are distinguished domestic and international experts, including academics and private sector professionals, shared their theoretical knowledge and extensive practical experience with over 250 participants from more than 150 export-oriented companies.

Driven by the need for companies to access the appropriate knowledge, skills, and expertise in foreign trade, and based on the availability of resources, the Export Institute was established as a professional body to support the development of the human capacities of Macedonian export-oriented companies. The activities of the Export Institute will continue in 2025, working toward the goal of building competitive Macedonian companies capable of integrating into regional and global value chains.
