Increasing the competitiveness of the Macedonian economy through strengthened cooperation between the business community and the Customs Administration was the key topic of discussion at the meeting between Branko Azeski, President of the Economic Chamber, and Boban Nikolovski, Director of the Customs Administration. It was agreed to establish regular consultations and joint events, which will serve as the foundation for improving customs-business partnerships.
A new Memorandum of Cooperation will define the new framework for partnership, aimed at ensuring consistency, predictability, and efficiency in customs and business processes.
"The Economic Chamber supports and encourages the Customs Administration to enhance customs operations by introducing new digital services and solutions and modernizing equipment, especially at border crossings. This will simultaneously ease and speed up procedures, providing support to export companies to increase their efficiency and competitiveness," Azeski stated during the meeting.
Director Nikolovski highlighted that such cooperation aligns with the Government's priorities.
"This is a significant step toward improving relations, which will positively impact the performance of the business community and the economic transformation of the country," said Nikolovski.
